Grand Pocket Orchestra frontman Paddy Hanna is set to release his second single ‘Underprotected’ via Trout Records in December. He also announces a London date [details below.]
Part of the same scene in Dublin which produced Girl Band — who he recently supported on their Irish tour — as well as his label mates O Emperor and Saint Sister, seasoned songwriter Hanna recalls Elvis Costello at his yearningly lucid best, as well as the ramshackle conceptualization of Ezra Furman.

We had a listen:
With an elastic waist-band of guitar and small hammerfalls of pleasing metallic nuggets, this tends to develop gently.
The pace loiters. The voice is coffee and thick cream. Yielding strong flavour nuances and dramatic textures.
A delicately moving 1990’s-style spinner.
Pleasant and relaxing.
