The 18-year-old singer and songwriter TAYLOR JANZEN from Winnipeg, Canada, has released her impressive acoustic number “Stations” — taken from her forthcoming EP titled “Interpersonal” out August 10th.
The song, which Taylor admits she “emotionally puked out” is surprisingly genuine and was written in the hope that others in a similar situation would feel some sense of solidarity.
She says, to paraphrase: “If you like sadness, songs and sad songs … this is for you.”
The song twists, rises, and falls like an autumnal leaf. And with lyrics like: “I am sick of your invisible abuse...” this bites-hard and brings a lump to the throat. But the vocals are heavenly and take us to a place in the sky where things are painless and perhaps more redeeming.
