ARMADA OF SECRETS — Make Me Over

London’s ARMADA OF SECRETS consists of vocalist Caroline Kabera and bassist Carl Dawkins who met in music school after Kabera immigrated to London from Burundi.

ARMADA OF SECRETS – The peach throat voice that is as intoxicating as rum and plum liquor…

They create a kind of pioneering post-punk party, driven by drum and bass, that espouses danceable raw attitude with soulful singing, plus deeply moving, subconscious lyricism. At best, their music is intoxicating and a little disobedient.

Now they bring their autobiographical “Make Me Over”.

This track symbolizes our return, a coming to terms with who we are and what we believe in…” they say.

All of our songs come from experience, but we felt that we were laid bare with this track […] It brought all of our anxieties, fears, and accomplishments.”

There is an accelerated rhythm and an incessant buzz that announces the peach throat voice that is as intoxicating as rum and plum liquor. The composition is constantly growing to generate stress and joy in equal measure. Veritable and heartening.

For fans of early 1990s M People and “Revenge” era Eurythmics.
