Gyakie with Omah Lay

GYAKIE Forever

Ghanaian afro-soul/afro fusion songstress, GYAKIE (aka Jackline Acheampong who is the daughter of the legendary Highlife musician Nana) — has released a sensual video for her latest release “Forever Remix” and it features the uber-talented Nigerian afro fusion artist (and BBC Radio 1xtra’s Hot For 2021) — Omah Lay

The video comes with an announcement welcoming Gyakie into the Sony Music and RCA UK fold. Not only did ‘Forever’ debut in 21 countries around the world, it also peaked at #1 in Ghana to cause some disruption across digital streaming and social media platforms as it enjoyed generous spins on the radio stations, including the remix being added to BBC Africa 360 playlist on launch. This week sees Gyakie on the cover of Apple Africa’s Now playlist.

Gyakie & Omah Lay - Forever

In the video (shared below) we see GYAKIE in her caring element as she brings to life the musical chemistry shared with Omah Lay on this mega-hit. In a little over three minutes, we see her wrestle the competing roles of impresario, haute-couturist, and entertainer-girlfriend in an imaginary love story brought to visual reality.

Shot in Nigeria, the film was directed by acclaimed director Dammy Twitch whose expansive resume includes the likes of Davido and Burna Boy

If you like the idea of a modern song with stunning visuals, though no nudity, no coarseness, and no hidden agendas: instead, lots of respect & love… this is warm ‘n’ strong enough to be sold as a cure for depression… it’s a reassuring smooch that will improve your day! Fully recuperative.
