The DNR — Dan Reed Network who play a sound that’s best be described as soul-funk with a mettlesome rock edge have today — October 22nd 2021 — released a new single and accompanying music video for “Starlight” taken from a forthcoming (their sixth) studio album “Let’s Hear It For The King” our via Drakkar Entertainment and due on March 4th 2022.
“We are chomping at the bit to get out there and bring people what we genuinely believe is the heaviest, funkiest and most melodic DRN album to date,” says Dan.
“These songs are the strongest representation of the band’s sound that we’ve ever created. You have been warned!”
Starlight is influenced by a rockin’ performance of AC/DC that Dan remembers: “ It’s that constant heartbeat pulse of AC/DC that makes it the most infectious rock music on the planet…” he says.
And so, yes, this certainly recalls Thunderstruck but also has yummy-syrup vocals, splendid rhythms, and a festoon of unrolling guitar that brings forth an ultra-psychoactive and, to be honest, insidious chorus!
Uh-huh, kinda Bon Jovi-ish in a melodic way… yep, this is a swirl of groove and sugar-stick hokeypokey!
