Lux Lisbon formed at Nottingham University before moving to London where the now-5-piece craft sweeping, cinematic indie from their tag-team boy/girl vocals, interwoven harmonies, and the influence of Dog is Dead, Fleetwood Mac and The Killers.
In 2013, Lux Lisbon released the ‘Get Some Scars’ EP and they also completed 2 UK tours – including with ‘To Kill A King.’
They will be announcing a new UK tour on June 2nd – as well as dropping their video for Memento Mori.
Set against icy pinpricks of guitar, the robust masculine voice strides out – but it is touched – by the warmth and affection of Charlotte Austen’s honeyed sincerity.
Then the fun really starts. A low rumble of drums and sticky and beats cling to your insides.
The guitar coagulation [from Tom Cooper] widens gradually to reach the very limits of the song.
Along with these, the accomplished, triumphant voices carry you away.
The roaring trumpet from Elliot Phelps – at the tail-end is a surprise. And an encouraging delight.
“So, So come hear [them] roar – memento mori… ”
