One of the most exciting live dance music acts to emerge from the UK in recent years, Bristol’s favourite bass collective and dream-makers Dr Meaker return accompanied by Sian Evans (Kosheen singer and collaborator with DJ Fresh) for their new single ‘Right Back.’
The single is already getting plenty of notice. We had a listen:
This is abundant with excitement, agitation. Commotion and emotion.
It is a vast cluck fluster of colours and textures.
Around the lustre of those sexy synths – the cognac red brown voice of Sian – often dipping into bluesy contralto – dalliances with the scribbles and bass-beat-rumps of the upbeat sounds.
It requires repeated listening – on the dance floor and on headphones. Because it is a joy – a creation totally without bounds.
And it has an effective conclusion too – a golden sax wanders in and out – and we are left with a wonderful flow of spinal reflexes.
