Miami based Brika has already been selected as an “Artist on the Verge” by New Music Seminar so it’s not surprising that we will see her soon at Brighton (UK’s) The Great Escape 2015.
And her beautiful song “Mumbai” has notched up over 100,000 views on You Tube.
We had a listen:
The song has twinkly and simple guitar and plucky bass [Guille Vadala.]
The vocal is warm and velvety but can reach a certain brassiness and even some fruity highs — these remind you that Brika comes from tropical climes.
The keys tread softly, gingerly almost, as the lower vocals come out sticky and choppy. The chorus is addictive and jazzy.
Enchanting tropical-pop with purring vocals and production and instrumental quality that will leave you awed.
