London based experimental soul artist ÒLAH BLISS has now released her debut EP titled 13:20 (twenty past one in the afternoon?)

We had a listen:
The EP starts with ‘Diva’ which has plenty of dark ridges, cavernous black-drops and secret cavities.
So… this is a hymn about success — hmm! It’s not as joyful as you think it might be.
And that is well, with an ‘Ego big enough to fill a roooom….” This is a warning about ironic success and the many dangers that lurk near the spotlight.
‘Get Married’ is also quirky.
With a bottom-lip wobble and pure vocal clarity that soon becomes apparent when you are in the company of ÒLAH.
The composition is intelligent, flexible and has many odd angles and misleading passages.
‘School Me’ is a bit watery.
With jellified synths and a more ordinary soul-voice.
This has jaggedy edges, clear parchment rhythms and slinky vocals.
‘Radar’ is also weird. But has combs of sensual sound that sweep toward the listener.
And timid vocals that tend to hide in the crevices – afraid of the light.
Curious, almost supernatural, soul sounds. With a magical voice that is sometimes husky, clear as the moon at other times, but always unexpected and very pleasant to behold.
