We have been listening to their new EP “Here Comes The Rat”:

Angel’s voice slips like mercury through the seams of a steaming grate in opening track ‘Golden Rat’.

Guitars fester and foam. And drums quickly add all the rolling excitement you could ever need. It is a fast, archaic and exciting.

Sally and her Tassels’ treads along in a confident manner.

With lumpy bass notes and angular guitars that appear as jagged as broken glass yet twice as sharp.

The voice is so high it penetrates into your skull like a knitting needle wielded by a dwarf on steroids.

But, fortunately, it also it maintains a certain sensuality and even laughter… And that stops it being shrill. And that’s what you will like about this song… It’s fun-filled and effervescent, even though it is filled with anxiety, released.

Teenage Monster’ has some wonderfully radiant riff-work. The beats rise before they compress the punky voice, which is spat out like a mouthful of bile. The verse is properly fast-and-furious. And the chorus backs into you, sweatily, like a fat man on a densely-packed subway train .

This is pure punk, fueled with anguish, and with sufficient volatile flash and flammability it could start a fire in a marine park.
