WILLOW STEPHENS — All That Glitters

Influenced by the gentle tempered artistry of performers such as Corinne Bailey Rae & Norah Jones, the Los Angeles based R&B, alt-indie artist and singer-songwriter WILLOW STEPHENS [aka Willow and the Robbery] has started the year with a new album entitled ‘All That Glitters’.

WILLOW STEPHENS
WILLOW STEPHENS – ravishing magique

The first single “Lullaby” (shared below) is a very personal song for Willow: written about meeting her husband-to-be, a period during which she was so excited, she could barely sleep…

The album begins with the ravishing magique of “Gold” with an altissimo voice and a featherstitching of superb accompanying sounds. This is masterfully produced.

The softly moving icepoint sway of “Lullaby” brings almost transparent & wafering rhythms with a polycrystal voice that stretches out over a gluey galaxy — to bring a swaddle of sounds that will pacify the listener.

Labyrinth” is cool-headed R&B with reverberant bass. This number has a danceable quality that will propel the delightfully honeyed vocals.

A standout album from an emerging star…

All that is gold does not glitter / Not all who wander are lost..” — Tolkein
