LUKE MORLEY Finds Inner Errol Flynn

LUKE MORLEY served as Thunder’s guitarist, primary songwriter, and the band’s producer.

He played a key part in the commercial success of their 14 albums and in cultivating the devoted following and continuing appeal of those rock legends.

Because of his efforts, Thunder enjoyed seven UK Top 10 albums and eighteen Top 40 singles.
But Luke is more talented than most people realise. On his new solo album, “Songs From the Blue Room,” he boldly enters the field of rock-tinged Americana.

We have previously described his popped-up bops as: ‘zazzy with guitar-play, jaunty rhythms, and impeccable vocal harmonies […] filled with geezerlike spraunce!

And now he has released a new single, with video (shared below), titled Errol Flynn.

“‘Errol Flynn is all about the male condition, how we deal with the ageing process, our vanity and how the opposite sex looks at us as we get older,” Luke explains.

‘I think it’s a little bit about my late Father and slightly about me as well I guess. I wanted it to feel like a Country song with a hint of dark humour thrown in.”

The song is a soft, impacting ballad in the fingerstyle style, with unsentimental yet moving vocals that are complemented by the most beautiful guitar twinkles and diffused, sparkling memories.
