American roots-rock band LARKIN POE from Atlanta, GA (US) are the Lovell sisters, Rebecca and Megan.
Their sixth studio album, Blood Harmony won the 2024 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Their sounds incorporate exquisite vocal harmonies, big guitar riffs, and slide guitar virtuosity. They are often compared to the Allman Brothers.
a thwacking burst of nitrous intensity…
Raw Ramp
Rebecca usually leads most vocals, jangling her guitar and singing in an expressive, hickory-smoked style.
Megan delivers acidic Dobro licks or adorable slide-solos. These hum, buzz, purr, and occasionally just glide into the spaces that surround their lyrical expressions. Her voice radiates across the landscapes in the same vein.

The close-knitted harmonies are particularly expressive when delivered over expansive bursts of keen guitar, as they are on new song ‘Bluephoria‘ (video posted below) which is a pepper-shaking boogie with tremendous Memphis soul-style jazz/swing percussion and a thwacking burst of nitrous intensity. The Hammond helps pack things out.
If you want outstanding bluesey roots sounds, it doesn’t get better than this!
