The genius slider & zeitgeisty blues-songbird SAMANTHA FISH is about to launch a lively round of fresh performance via Rounder Records, and begins with a captivating version of “Better Be Lonely”, released as a single on August 23rd.
This alternative version of “Better Be Lonely” — taken from the musician’s chart-topping album Faster (2021) — showcases her electric potential & seductive stage presence. Following a successful year of touring, Fish continues to establish herself as a modern guitar hero, having performed alongside rock icons such as Slash, Eric Clapton, and The Rolling Stones.
The new recording possesses a captivating lively quality, with a touch of tangy-dry pungency, while her White Gibson evokes a series of moon-silver hydroxy squinches.
“Better Be Lonely” was captured on tape in Nashville during a live video shoot (shared below.) The recording embodies the theme of empowerment in relationships and in wider life. It’s a high-energy track that exemplifies Fish’s insubordinate spirit and super-transformative guitar technique.
About the performance, Samantha declares, “Making albums is one of my favourite things […] it’s an opportunity to reinvent myself…
… but the stage is where we go to really bring the songs to life. I feel like I connect the most with my audience from the stage. There is something so special about that kind of energy. It’s raw, no frills… no big fixes or edits. It’s what you can do with the moment, so I think it’s important to attempt to bottle that.”
