The British blues-rock musician JOANNE SHAW TAYLOR has unveiled an affecting (yet kickass) new single, titled “What Good Is My Love?” The recording features the acclaimed Australian guitarist and singer-songwriter ORIANTHI. This expressively dynamic track, is released by Journeyman Records (video shared below.)

With a groove that builds gradually and guitars that weave together in beautiful harmony, “What Good Is My Love?” is a musical journey for the heart. The song explores the painful uncertainty that comes when love is no longer reciprocated. Joanne’s expressive song-voice and Orianthi’s incredible guitar solo convey the song’s main question: highlighting the insecurity of understanding that even the most strong devotion might collapse under its own weight.
“We’ve probably all been in the position at some point in life when the love we had and give isn’t returned,” Joanne suggests.
“Whether it’s unrequited or simply fades. I wanted to write a song for those of us who have had to question, “What good is my love if it’s not enough?”
The song begins with a building tension that culminates in waves of electrifying guitar between Joanne and Orianthi, their compelling performances deepening as the track expands its emotional journey. Their different styles combine for a powerful musical conversation, mixing rough-handed though intricately paced blues with delicious melodies. Their combined performance artfully blends sorrow with unyielding courage, transforming introspection into a powerful anthem, to yield a liberating climax.
“What Good Is My Love?” arrives as the latest preview of Joanne’s forthcoming studio album, due out later this year. This track comes after the release of “Hell Or High Water,” a blues gospel piece about resilience and personal battleing that is gaining traction on streaming services and radio.
