Wired Minds is a rising Chicago-based band inspired by The Stone Roses, The Church, and ’80s and ’90s British rock.
They have released a vibrantly retro video that can be seen below.
Wired Minds will release their debut EP Saudade at Metro Chicago on Friday, December 11.
Formed in 2015 — Wired Minds have reverb-drenched guitars, driving rhythms, and soaring vocals that have also earned comparisons with post-punkers The Chameleons.
The band consists of singer lead singer Matthew Kayser, drummer Christian Volpe, and guitarist Fred O’Neal.
Chicago’s Joe O’Leary [ She Rides Tigers] will play bass for Wired Minds on December 11.
We heard Strange Kind of Love taken from the from the “Saudade” EP:
Shimmering guitars and a motoring beat, with foggy effects (reminding us of Tubeway Army) introduce licorice-butter dark themes and slow-paced vocals.
It strides, it yawns across the arches, then it lingers…
Charming and nostalgic.
