Los Angeles based Shanee Pink (pronounced Shuh-NEE) has been sharing the spotlight with Mark Noseworthy of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in neo folk duo Pink & Noseworthy.
The Laurel Canyon artist is now making her mark as a solo artist with today’s release of her new EP “Spreading In The Light” released on North Street Records.
The album, which was co-produced by Shanee and Daniel Wright of Song Preservation Society.
It alternates between folk and electronic pop, with a clear foray into classic rock as well.
We had a listen to lead song “Spreading In The Light”:
“Spreading In The Light” starts softly and has a disturbing quality to it – as if you are not quite fully awake.
The gentle voice ponders against an inhaling rhythm – then some loose strings are flexed against the dragging pace.
Although this feels dreamy and sluggish – it has a constant nagging buzz about it that unsettles the mind.
Delicious.
