Bridie Jackson is Talking Again

Newcastle-based Bridie Jackson and The Arbour were winners of the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent Competition 2013 – and played 5 sets over the weekend. They have now released their second album ‘New Skin

Bridie Jackson and The Arbour smaller newThe superb video for the lead single from the album, ‘We Talked Again’ was directed by the amazing ABPhotography, and crowd-funded by their generous Sponsume.com pledgers.

We saw the new video:

The story-line gradually develops (we won’t spoil it here) and the images are tense and dramatic. The acting is excellent.

The story is all about the kindness of strangers, the force of a mother’s love driven by nature and the energy of hope.

The song coaxes the images along but sits loftily above the drama below. Like an unseen calming wind.

With eloquent strings that tenderly hold the smoky voice of Bridie Jackson in place – the song is sweet, dark and dangerous. Like unseen black waters in the dead of night.

Against the simplest of bolero beats – and some fairly tight strumming with shimmering belleplates – the harmonies radiate out in a final flourish – bringing a conclusion that warms the heart.
