Obsessed with Giorgio Moroder’s blend of disco and epic dark atmospheres, Brighton-based artist Salt Ashes first sprang to attention with her cover of Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration.”
Salt Ashes, aka 22 year old Veiga Sanchez, has spent the past year honing her own songs in the studio, creating her signature electronic grooves, and drawing influence from artists as diverse as Madonna, Kate Bush, Daft Punk and MIA.

We have been listening to “If You Let Me Go” :
The pace on this track is flaky and itchy and with a bottom line that gurgles and milk bottle chimes that crunch.
The Madonna-esque voice is sweet and squeaky – cheeky and cool to touch.
The rescue-chorus is is extraordinarily high – with a soprano voice reminiscent of Marcella Detroit (Shakespears Sister) – this is properly engaging.
This earns the right to be placed right next to Kylie and “Lucky Star” Madonna in your record collection.
A dance track full of amazingly bright starlight and dramatically acute trebles.
