Jamie Knox Not a Robot

South London Indie/Alternative Singer-songwriter Jamie Knox and his Brighton-based band including Adam Passingham (Bass) and Max Murdoch (Drums) have issued “I Know I’m Not A Robot” from the Just Dancers mini-album.

Jamie Knox - A voice that is clear and palpable...
Jamie Knox – A voice that is clear and palpable…

We had a listen:

Hardly human…” starts the lyric. And that high-altitude voice is full of bile and bitterness.

It’s about the erosion of the human condition.

Didn’t Marina and The Diamonds have a look at this condition in 2009? But she was coming from the point of view of a sweetheart who recognises the vulnerabilities of her lover.

Jamies’ canticle, on the other hand, although introspective, invites us all to watch out for signs of encroachment — our humanity is at risk!

So his ideas are acidic. The voice is clear and palpable. And the accompaniment is twanging, bouncing and pleasantly scruffy.

This beautiful song has clean thoughts… provoking sensible precautions — and is extremely attractive besides.
