Freedom Fry Finds You, Yeah You

Freedom Fry are French songstress Marie Seyrat and Michigan-born Bruce Driscoll. They currently reside in L.A.

For those who don’t know, French Fries were re-named Freedom Fries right across the States when France opposed the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The band are now on the Spotify’s list of 100 emerging artists from SXSW 2015.

 

They have recently released “Yeah You”.

We had a listen:

This song strays into camp like a honeydrunk bear. Sweet, fuzzy and subtly dangerous.

Handclaps, guitar shimmers and box-top rhythms all add to the style, eloquence and substance of this artfully crafted song.

Marie’s voice is velvety glorious – purring and dribbling into the clefts – while Bruces’ voice is clear, sweet and effective.

This is highly a accomplished number, a pleasantly unusual combination of art rock and country music friendliness … with a catchy chorus and some memorable vocals…
