There’s a new single video out on Fierce Panda June 29th, called Underwood Milk.

We had a listen:

With lightly strummed riffs that reminded, musically, of Dylan (he was invited to support Bob Dylan in London 2011 … so maybe it should not be surprising,) and Beatles i.e. Yellow Submarine… This is stuffed to the bulwarks with intelligent rock ideas and clever hooks.

The guitar-work is strikingly elegant and the voice (a mix of Ian Hunter and Noel Gallagher … Yes, Noel) is gruff and grumbly — but it has a hidden twinkle.

Vocals are sharp-raw and dry-to-the-bone, the rhythms are smooth and the musicianship glows like peeled skin spent working too long on subsistence farms.

Yep, this is earthy rock ‘n’ roll — played diligently and possessing an ancestry that seems sent from heaven.
