One of the most iconic female musical groups of all time — Sister Sledge — will perform for Pope Francis in a special gathering for the The World Meeting of Families this month.
The event, which takes place in the culturally rich city of Philadelphia, USA on 26 September 2015, marks the first time that Pope Francis has officially visited the United States
The internationally renowned, award-winning soul, disco, dance & gospel band who brought us “We Are Family”, “Lost in Music” and “Thinking of You” — will perform an exclusive and special rendition of the song “We Are Family” during the Papal visit.
Since its release, “We Are Family” has had more than 1 billion digital downloads and has become the mantra for peace worldwide.
Speaking about their performance at the event, the group said in a statement:
