Manchester, England’s BLACKHEART ORCHESTRA consisting of Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington create beautifully inspiring acoustic folk tinged with progressive pop tendencies and modern classical flair.
Steve Hackett, of Genesis, has described their sounds “Beautiful and powerful. Their music is inspiring.”
Often mistaken as an 8-piece band on first listen, The Blackheart Orchestra can be found on stage with a multitude of instruments that range from guitars, piano and electronic beats to vintage synthesizers, omnichord and even flugelhorn.
We have been listening to “Keep The Light In” —
The nervous voice trembles like a nymph-fly on a slim stem.
The violet blue heart of this number is found in the cracked concrete textures and the hydraulic cements that make up the arrangement.
Nevertheless, you will focus on the slender vocal and all of its willowy grace.
