TROY REDFERN Tasty Getaway

The sounds of British slide guitar legend TROY REDFERN will excite you if you love guttural guitar shrieks, pounding bass notes, hammering rhythms, and Zeppelin-style riffs!

Now the guitarist + singer-songwriter reveals his new single Getaway; It’s to be the second single taken from his forthcoming 2024 studio album Invocation (check out the video, shared below.)

The new single is available here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/troyredfern/getaway

The single coincides with Redfern’s much awaited UK tour in November 2023, where he will open for guitar virtuoso Philip Sayce (see poster below.) In early December, Troy will play a mainstage show at Planet Rockstock in Wales.

The single was produced by Dave Marks (Simon McBride) and mixed by Jo Webb (Iain Hornal, Paul Canning) and features Troy Redfern on guitar + vox, with Paul Stewart on drums, and Dave Marks on bass.

The new songs embrace more of the rockier elements of my writing and playing…” explains the guitarman.

As an artist I feel it’s important to keep pushing and striving to refine your art, while staying true to your vision. It is important to know who you are […[ and on Getaway and the upcoming album, I think I have finally perfected my own contemporary signature sound.”

Getaway is a thundering explosion of boogie rock ‘n’ roll thrill-making, with seductive bass notes working fast alongside iridescent guitar shapes. The entire song is as crazy as a weasel caught in a gunpowder flask, and the ultra-compressed Bolanesque vocals work perfectly with the slide-guitar fusillades and carronades of audacious rhythm. Dynamite!
