BLACK EYED SONS Autumn Reigns feat. Charlie Starr

BLACK EYED SONS make nostalgic, feel-good rock ‘n’ roll that has sleazy glam struttiness and feels akin to Mott the Hoople circa 1974 or Toys in the Attic era Aerosmith.

BLACK EYED SONS have now released a personal video for “Autumn Reigns” — a song that features Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke.

Written by frontman vocalist Guy Griffin, the song holds special significance, inspired by the tragic loss of his brother Daniel in late 2021. The video (shared below) is released ahead of the band’s UK headline tour.

Autumn Reigns” is an atmospherically light and finely constructed remembrance. The voice is wistful but not sentimental; it is sandpapery but never melodramatic. Furthermore, the expressivity and the musicality are loving and significant. A kind tribute to a true life well lived.

About the song, Guy says: “Written as if by the person who’s gone for the people left behind, its lyrics deal with loss, grief and the passage of time, trying to make sense of life after tragedy…something we all go through at some point in our lives. A sad subject but I hope the song’s uplifting… that’s how I’d like it to be heard. This one’s for you Dan, we all miss you…”
