The wait is over for fans of the Australian prog-metal group KARNIVOOL, as they’ve released their album “In Verses” via Cymatic Records/The Orchard. They have also announced a run of live shows (see the tour poster below.)
In Verses, an album project that has been in development for nearly thirteen years, represents the culmination of the past decade’s life experiences that have shaped Karnivool’s journey.
The album’s ten songs, crafted and presented with great care, explore shared emotions of frustration, release, and a renewed sense of self.
The texturally impactful semi-progressive alt-metal visionaries have released a visualizer for “Reanimation,” (shared below) which includes a solo by UK guitar legend Guthrie Govan (the Aristocrats, Asia). This song is a slower, moodier companion to the more expansive “Animation,” featuring a warm, deep sound and lyrics that convey feelings of loneliness and disconnect.
The creation of In Verses stemmed from the band’s persistent experimentation conducted in their Perth studio alongside their collaborator of many years, Forrester Savell.
This new album serves as an excellent re-entry point for both dedicated and occasional Karnivool listeners, while also offering a compelling introduction for new fans to their extensive catalog, which is characterized by a deep passion for their music-making genius.
