On May 29th, 2026, WHEN RIVERS MEET, the award-winning British blues band, known for their toe-tapping rhythms, acoustic jangle, hip-grinding swing, and exploratory verse structures, will release their new album, “Rhythm Rust and Static.”
Grace Bond (vocals, mandolin, violin) and Aaron Bond (vocals, guitar) formed their independent duo in 2019 and have rapidly become a compelling force in British blues and homespun Americana.
The band’s live performances, marked by superb musicianship and energetic stage presence, are filled with zeal, passion, and a fiery spirit.
Ahead of their album release, WRM has dropped their first single, “The Tide Is Turning.” The track evokes the atmosphere of their gritty on-the-road experiences as the duo toured the length-and-breadth of the United Kingdom. The video is shared below.
The song starts with a raspy, dry vocalization, set against a jagged guitar riff and metallic drum beat. However, the predictable build-up and subsequent release of tension soon culminates in a powerful chorus, effectively clearing away any clutter. This is an emotional unveiling!
“The Tide Is Turning captures that chunk of time before you walk out into the lights,” explains Grace.
“Everything’s loud, messy and often chaotic but you can feel something building. I like that it isn’t about everything being polished and easy. It’s about trusting that momentum even when you’re still figuring things out.”
Aaron adds: “This one comes straight from real gig life. Dingy rooms, long drives, never quite knowing what kind of night you’re about to have but still believing you’re moving somewhere.”
The duo have also released a set of Rhythm Rust and Static dates for later this year. See the list (below) for a venue near you.
