DIANA SILVEIRA Clowns and Jugglers

DIANA SILVEIRA, a talented Portuguese artist who fuses rock, blues, and soul, came to public attention when she captivated audiences on the third season of ‘Ídolos’, Portugal’s version of Pop Idol.

Diana will feature on the special double vinyl (and CD) album celebrating Syd Barratt’s 80th heavenly birthday. She will also appear live at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge, at an accompanying concert, alongside luminaries like Kula Shaker, Soft Machine, and more.

The collectors double album, Clowns and Jugglers (The Songs of Syd Barrett) features songs from Pink Floyd, Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, and guest spots from David Bowie, among many others. Both the album and the live event have received official endorsement from the Barrett family and Pink Floyd’s management.

The 80th birthday album, which can be pre-ordered in various CD and vinyl formats from https://burningshed.com/syd-barrett_clowns-and-jugglers_2cd, features re-workings of hard-to-get Syd Barratt material.

Diana’s input on Clowns and Jugglers is a dreamy, somewhat kaleidoscopic, soul-infused reinterpretation of Syd’s ‘Octopus’. Her song includes a powerful ensemble, comprising of Jo Harman’s regular touring musicians, with Emily Francis on keyboards, who also provided a psychedelic synth solo; Sonny Winslow on bass; Magic Johnson on drums and production; and guitarist Nat Martin, whose epic guitar solo extended the unedited track to seven glorious minutes.

Clowns and Jugglers is an official celebration of the life and songs of Pink Floyd co-founder Syd Barrett
