Little Earthquake Planets

Little Earthquake is the brainchild of brothers Matthew and Justin Hyland, students and fans of indie pop … they embrace rock and acoustic + electronic instruments to bring their eccentric electro-pop melodies to life.

Based on the Central Coast of Australia, the brothers grew up in bands together at school before heading to the states in which they toured as guest members of the U.S. indie rockers Lydia, across the country and get a taste for the road.

During this period, the brothers began writing together for a new project, creating songs that would go on to become the basis for Little Earthquake.

Back in Australia, the brothers teamed up with producer Lachlan Mitchell at Attic Studios (The Jezabels, Pnau) who took their songs to a new level, creating the basis of their forthcoming EP.

One of the stand-out tracks from the sessions was “Planets” – we had a listen:

Little Earthquake short‘Planets’ is fresh and melodic with a cheeky bass that noses its way through the intricate harmonies –  and shimmering synths fanning across a marching beat.

The centre-piece even has a ska-sounding rustle and is full of sweet euphony.

Delicious stuff – we can not wait discover more from this duo.
