Measure was born in 2008 in Brooklyn, New York.
In the beginning – it was an electro pop duo based around the writing of solo artist and singer/songwriter Laura DiStasi (vocals, keys, synths, songwriting) with the programming of producer/guitarist David Little. That same year, Measure released a debut EP titled Begin Again – which defined their sweeping, atmospheric yet beat-driven sound.
In 2010 Measure evolved into a full Indie Pop band – bolstered by old friends Woody Quinn (guitar), Tommy Harron (bass), and Casey Tuck (drums, percussion) joining.

Recently – Taylor Swift’s inventory of ‘healing’ songs [to be listened to after a break-up] has included Measure’s “Begin Again” –
So we had a listen:
A soup-box of transitory trashcan rhythms rattle together with the sad piano.
Then that lone female voice tromps in, sadly – smoked and shell-shocked – racked with frustration and sadness.
This is eloquently neurotic – soft yet rasping – leaving you with a sense of painful hollowness that’s efficiently heartless…
Shedding tears is, perhaps, the best medicine… but soon enough you will need to take-a-deep-breath and Begin Again…
