Sweden’s Hillström & Billy started out as a solo project formed around Petter Hillström’s music and words.
Intitially started as a one-man band, the project soon developed into a social gathering with people coming and going, but always with the crucial core of Petter Hillström and his friends.
The new Hillstrom & Billy single “The Holding” has been released. This is the third track taken from the 2015 album “The Neverending Paint Job.”

Although this has a country air with abundant ligaments of iridescent guitars providing thrust and lift – it’s a gentle rocking number with a glorious chorus.
The voice immediately appeals. It is polished like a desert sunflower – yellow in colour – with an inkling of emulsion and mercury.
A violin adds a touch of sweet melancholy – but this is not a sad song. Just somewhat anxious … with a dash of nostalgia.
A wonderfully crafted warm and positive number – this triggers a spontaneous feeling of loneliness, but then offers us a warm embrace of well-being.
