Dublin four-piece Tandem Felix (whose foundation is firmly rooted on the twin attributes of Evan Keogh and David A. Tapley) are set to release their new EP ‘Comma’ via Trout Records.
We had an early listen:
Opening track ‘Nothing I Do Will Ever Be Good Enough’ is brave and strong. With sighing guitars that almost bend the edges of those rippling rhythms.
The voice is warming and slightly haunted. An organ sound runs in-and-out of this languid track. The feeling is one of growing resignation — “Nothing I will ever do…”
‘Waiting In The Wings’ is slightly more optimistic. A regularly plonked key vibrates around an accommodating rhythm.
The voice is moist and coffee stained. This is like finding out that your best friend is secretly waiting for you. Looking forwards to your emergence from a private stasis. And is ready to take you out for a cup of love.
‘Moon Tingles’ has that same kind of generous acoustic atmosphere that you will grow to love with this band.
A little Southern in flavour, with lamenting slide guitars and that familiar easy-air. A voice of coal-like dark-bitterness lingers between the magnificent instrumental folds of this piece.
Romantic and melancholic country rock with dark brown voices and exquisitely rendered harmonics.
