The Reveurs Take a Bow

Manchester (UK) four piece indie-rock outfit The Reveurs are releasing their new single ‘Take a Bow’ to coincide with a string of gigs across the North of England that will see them playing in their home town as well as Sheffield, Leeds and Liverpool.

Channeling musical influences such as Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes — the band formed in late 2013 and consists of Gary Nelson (Vocals/Guitar), Iain Brewster (Guitar/Backing vocals), Adam Molyneux (Bass) and Ben Devenport (Drums).

The band recorded ‘Take a Bow’ in Salford’s Blueprint Studio, made famous by Elbow as their recording studio of choice.

We had a listen:

A crowberry flavoured and peaty sounding voice stands out proud … like a warding stone on a windswept moorland peak.

This song takes you to the highest Pike — so that you can look down and assess the smoky chaos of your metropolitan existence.

The voice echoes across the grit-fell escarpments — and the beauty of those guitars breaking out so magnificently reminded us of a spring-tide on the rise – pushing the good-waters into the cool air.

The repeating refrain “Take a bow…” is begging — it urges the listener to recognize and accept their place in the scheme of things.

Let us not stand idly by and let the curtain fall … without at least trying to do our best.
