Plastic Mermaids Inhale The Universe

From the Isle Of Wight (UK) the five-piece band Plastic Mermaids create compelling and vivacious songs that will warm the heart of every listener.

Plastic Mermaids - Like angel wings floating close to your marrow....
Plastic Mermaids – Like angel wings floating close to your marrow….

We listened to their new EP Inhale The Universe:

Playing In Your Mind’ has pale-ghost vocals set against agitated rhythm guitars.

The song gradually develops, unfolding like fresh linen on a summer day.

It reaches abundancy when delicious synths wind along empty horizons, and the guitars swell to fill the distance.

And it is then that the vocal reaches it’s full glory. Like angel wings floating close to your marrow.

And, if that is not all, we also have a psychedelic section filled with all-sorts of plastic bungs and paper-cup loopiness.

Saturn’ is slightly disturbing. But no less interesting.

Mournful strings add a weary sadness. But there is also spatial brightness here.

For Nothing’ is folky. With pleasing acoustic guitar strums.

But even this starts to run-away with your heart.

The pace is urgent, clappy, and the sounds are a feast of colours and scents.

Captivating pop, created with a young-heart,comforting voices, clever compositions and exceptional imagination.
