We listened to Harborview taken from Yonder’s upcoming debut LP.
Here’s what we thought:
Rhythms increase rapidly with those rigidly topped-off drums, as the guitar runs sideways into the slurried mix of sounds.
The vocal is velvety and dusty alongside the jangles of guitar and tumbles of drums.
But a bright chorus can be made out. And the melody takes you by the hand, to bring you safely to the dock.
Then storming guitars let off a full head of steam…
This is stunning pop — light-headed and carefully innocent.
Defiant, bold, fully considered and furiously determined.
