Cultivated from a common passion for vintage synthesizers, classical disco rhythms and older-school house, the New York based 88 PALMS is the freshly-formed producer stroke keyboardist duo, namely: Morgan Wiley (of Midnight Magic, ex Hercules & Love Affair) and singer and DJ Ria Bouttier.
They wanna body-forth their sweltering disco dreams.
So the disco outfit has launched a debut music video for their single “Bright Lights”

This is an arresting cinematic experience, catching the Big Apple’s sensual August mood with the late-night motorcycle rides, neon ruminations and mirrored ‘n’ muzzy discotheque beats.
At times, Ria sounds like an Autoamerican Debbie Harry [no bad thing] but perhaps with less Fab Five Freddy and more shimmering wobble…
But the disco–driven rubbery beats are pure and solid and so very Soul-train circa 1978.
