We’ve been captivated by the smoky & husky-hued voice of NADINE SHAH — her songs imbued with an understated unease — since the burning passion of her Dreary Town EP in 2013.

So we are pleased that the South Tyneside musician [now London based] has announced her new album Holiday Destination is set for release AUGUST 25 via 1965 RECORDS.
The first single taken from the album, the disorderly “Out The Way” [listen below] wrestles with the fact that Shah is a second-generation immigrant with an identity that is constantly brought into question. The rhythms are disconcerting and original while the content is vituperative…
For Shah, the first ideas for “Holiday Destination” came to her in 2014,
“I saw this really shocking news piece. It was about migrants and refugees turning up on the shores of Kos in Greece by the thousands. There were some holidaymakers being interviewed [who] were talking about how ‘they’re really ruining our holiday’ —
