JOE BONAMASSA — Carnegie Hall Acoustic

Last January the world-renowned American blues-rock artist and winner of the Sena Performers European Guitar Award 2017 JOE BONAMASSA performed two unique shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

The concert included new arrangements of favourite songs as well as brand new numbers — and was the highpoint of a special all-acoustic tour that featured an all-star ensemble of world-class musicians that included acclaimed cellist Tina Guo and Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy.

The musical group also included Reese Wynans on piano, Anton Fig on drums, Eric Baxilian [on mandolin, hurdy-gurdy, sax and guitars] and with backing vocals by Mahalia Barnes, Juanita Tipppins and Gary Pinto.

Despite being amongst the most ambitious things I’ve done…” says Bonamassa, “I played with a 9 piece acoustic band… it came out great. It was a typical Joe freak show.

Now the Carnegie Hall concert is to be released on double CD, double DVD, Blu-ray and 3 LP vinyl.

The Live at Carnegie Hall – An Acoustic Evening recording includes 14 songs such as “Dust Bowl” which was one of the acoustic numbers performed at “Radio City” and a crowd favourite.

Fans will also enjoy “This Train” with its compelling rhythms, and the hollow-body fruitiness of “Drive” plus the Leon Russell number “Hummingbird” as well as and the saloon bar greasiness of “Livin’ Easy.”
