GIRL RAY the pop trio from North London comprising of Poppy, Sophie and Iris have announced that their debut album “EARL GREY” [see what they did there?] will be out via Moshi Moshi Records on 4th August 2017.
It’s a year since they recorded their debut single “Trouble” [to be found on the album] with its chugging Seventies feel-good vibe and generally plucky air.
Their honeyed sounds seem to encompass everything from the Beach Boys to The Shangri-Las via the Pretenders … so this album promises to be an effervescent feast of Ringo-style drums, Belle & Sebastian style wordplay and über-colourful Sgt Peppery imagery. We can’t wait!
