UK high energy rockers VOODOO VEGAS who deliver highly expressive, combustible rock ‘n’ roll at terrific speed & intensity have announced they will be playing The Western China Music Festival in Dujiangyan, China.
They’ll be the first (and only) UK band to play the fest…
Voodoo Vegas will be playing to a monumental crowd, expected to number at least 100,000: Clearly the largest audience they’ve ever played…
And, of course, the band are incredibly excited: “This is a huge deal for all of us,” says frontman Lawrence Case, “We can’t believe we are playing the show, we feel like we’ve won the lottery…”
It has taken around 4 months to confirm the show after the festival initially made contact with the band. Voodoo Vegas had to send their music to the Chinese Cultural Secretary, as well as every single lyric to every song they’ve written, in order to demonstrate to the Chinese authorities that their material had no controversial political overtones.
The band’s appearance at the Western China Music Festival comes in the middle of a run of UK and European dates from September onwards. [Tour dates below]
Their third single from the album “Freak Show Candy Floss” was designed to raise awareness about rough sleeping and to help the charity: Crisis fight homelessness. The song incorporated a single-minded riff while irascible yet soulful vocals implored against ignorance and prejudice…
