New-wave icon LENE LOVICH celebrates the 40th anniversary of ‘Stateless’ her debut album, that features cult classic ‘Lucky Number’ by touring the UK in March 2019 [dates below]
LOVICH oozes cult appeal due to her post-punk attitude, uniquely stylish music, undoubted artistry and unconventional fashion… Her debut album spent several months in the Top 40 charts 1978-9.

LOVICH was born Lili-Marlene Premilovich in Detroit, Michigan, to an English mother and an American father of Yugoslavian descent – the family relocated to Hull, England where she eventually met guitarist and songwriter Les Chappell, who became her long-time music collaborator and life partner.
Before joining The Damned, Devo, and Ian Dury on the Stiff Records label, her work included cabaret in London clubs (as a go-go dancer), voice-over work for Hammer Films (screaming for horrors) and writing lyrics for French disco artist Marc Cerrone (including dance hit ‘Supernature’). She also travelled to Spain, where she visited artist Salvador Dalí in his own home. In 2005, Lovich appeared on Hawkwind’s Take Me to Your Leader [ ‘Angela Android’] as well as appearing occasionally on stage with the space-rockers.
“It is incredibly flattering to know that people are still interested in Stateless after all these years. And it is always humbling to learn what it has meant to people on a personal level. We all have music which becomes the soundtrack to our lives, and to know that people are still listening is the highest compliment that you can ever be paid as an artist and a performer...” says LOVICH.
