We have described the songs of the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter/stunning bluesman, JARED JAMES NICHOLS — famous for creating brilliant guitar shapes, bubbling rhythms and a grit-fed voice — as more catchy than a bunch of bear traps, tones richer than a beaver pelt, and with guitar solos that come at you faster than spin-stabilized bullets.
The musician now presents a new single “Down The Drain” via Black Hill Records produced, engineered, and mixed by Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Slash, Rival Sons.) Check out the video (shared below.)
the guitar laments like a collapsed angel…

According to Jared, the song: ‘stems from a familiar place that can hit home for all of us, feelings of despair and pain, but constantly searching to find love each day…’
Resembling Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun to begin with (in a good way) the number soon changes tack and begins to become a hard-trucking riff-rock piece with firepower bass notes and lots of beefcake chords. The voice is tight fortitude and fire-filled vivacity. And the guitar laments like a collapsed angel. Yes, this is a song of indestructible love and everlasting (self) forgiveness. Truly super-applausable!
