When we saw this tune played live in London, we compared the Black Keys’ style riff on “Easy Come, Easy Go” to a mist hanging over the Menominee River, with the guitar glumly grating behind Jared’s blueish-moonless singing. The composition changes from a dark groover to a bashing screamer as the song progresses, becoming as dark as crow feathers as the lyrics address faded embers of lost love.

The album was recorded live to analog tape in late 2017 at Nashville’s famed Blackbird Studios by Eddie Spear (Slash, Rival Sons, and Zach Bryan) with this version recorded in the same manner. Jared co-wrote the song with Dave Bassett (Shinedown, Elle King) over a series of zoom calls made while on Covid lockdown.
