The award for the ultimate “musician’s musician” undoubtedly belongs to RORY GALLAGHER, the Irish-born blues and rock artist. His impact extended to legendary musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Brian May.
During his school years, Gallagher learned to sing and play the harmonica, crediting Woody Guthrie, Big Bill Broonzy, and Lead Belly as early musical inspirations. He acquired skills in slide guitar, alto sax, bass, mandolin, banjo, and the coral sitar through self-education. During his teenage years, he explored various blues styles.
In the 1960s he formed a rock & RnB power trio: “The Taste.” They supported Cream at their farewell concert in London’s Royal Albert Hall and Blind Faith on a tour of North America.
“How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?” the daytime talk-show host Mike Douglas once asked Jimi Hendrix.
“I don’t know,” he responded, “go ask Rory.”
Now you can witness the exceptional talent of Joe Bonamassa, the multiple award-winning blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter, as he celebrates Gallagher’s handcrafted virtuosity in three very special shows.
In response to high demand, Joe Bonamassa has added a third Marquee date, Cork, Eire, on July 3, 2025, joining the already sold-out shows on July 1st and 2nd, to celebrate the artistry of Rory Gallagher.
Tickets go live 17th October at 10:00 via TICKETMASTER.IE or AIKENPROMOTIONS.COM
