ANNEKE Announces La Mort

To mark the 30-year milestone of ‘Mandylion,’ the album that was instrumental in The Gathering’s international success, the band reformed with its original lineup and together played five sold-out shows.

The Dutch singer-songwriter Anneke van Giersbergen found herself in familiar territory, and the experience exceeded all her expectations. Due to the immense success of these triumphant shows, ANNEKE with her former bandmates will be busy with numerous major concert and festival appearances across 2026.

Anneke’s departure from The Gathering occurred in August 2007; the reasons were to pursue new projects and have more family time. Following this, she put out three albums under the name “Agua de Annique,” three more as “Anneke van Giersbergen” “La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour,” (with a fourth, pending completion.).

This impactful trilogy follows a deeply personal emotional path of love, loss, and grief, sparked by the deaths of both her parents within a two-month span. The chapter titled “La Mort” is coming out shortly. The release is preceded by the single ‘Red Sky’, out now. Watch the official music video (below.)

ANNEKE is promising that her four-song EP, “La Mort” will be available digitally from March 27th with a special vinyl version to be released on April 18th for Record Store Day.
