London singer songwriter Jake Morley started out in the acoustic folk community of Lucy Rose and Ed Sheeran – but now he is unveiling a startling new weight and depth to his music.
This progression as an artist has been mirrored in his writing, turning towards bolder and more mature themes like adulthood and intense self-reflection.
Helping carve out this detailed new approach on first single Falter is award-winning producer Calum MacColl.

We listened to Falter:
Imagine a porcupine in high heels tottering into some triple-harp strings to get an idea of the loopy tangled jangleness at the beginning of this song.
Then the vibrating bow-like (and deeply smooth) black-hair vocal glides through the strings in long, rosin-aided, slow vibrations .
The joints in the song are strengthened by incredible string wavelets.
But the focus is on the magnificent “Headstrong” voice – this hangs around the shoulders of the song like a transparent dressing gown.
Sheer, long and almost liturgical in spirit and movement – this beautiful piece connects poignant melodies with the kind of voice that identifies man as one with angels.
