Peter Gabriel’s UK tour is in full swing and Swedish solo artist Jennie Abrahamson is supporting. Her new album Gemini Gemini is available to pre-order next week. [See below]

We have been checking Jennie’s new single, called The War:
Stunning wraps of eloquent strings envelope the wallowing voice at the start of this illustrious number – and battle drums begin their exotically fascinating war cry.
Jennie’s voice is soft and buttery. Cupid-like it steps from vine-to-vine – gently quivering on each leaf-note.
The chorus, when it comes, is reminiscent of Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita” – the same cutey-pie voice, the sense of Latin availability and the bra-strap twanging tempo.
But this is much more than a girly, fiesta-in-the-sun pop-song … it also growls in the darkness. Within the depths are concealed cave-mouths of despair. Anguish is never far away.
Sparkling and clever synth-pop rock with vocals that range across the full spectrum, and interludes of sadness that emerge from the swagger.
