Sophie Stern has written for the likes of Britney Spears and Ke$ha — now she moves herself centre-stage with her own band The Bom Boms.
SOPHIE AND THE BOM BOMS release ‘Power’ on February 23.
It’s an upbeat pop anthem that delivers an incredible vocal and an empowering, infectious sing-a-long hook.

We had a listen:
A bunch of brassy squelches announces the onwards march of this song.
Sophie’s voice is strong and fresh. This number is stuffed with tromboning insolence and goosed-up strut.
The song is about the negative influence of power (and money) and how we cannot escape the charm.
Nothing quite denigrates the hegemony of profit as much as a marching band pulled-off with highheeled intent — and this song does a good job of it, pushed along — as it is — by a barrage of fruit pop horns and credible rhythms.
Intelligent and completely arrogant. And where’s the harm in that?
