A Treat for Your Ears & Stimulus for Your Fibres — Laura Clock Fade

The next release from the Berlin based artist Laura Clock (formerly Butterclock) is a four-track EP of spacious, melody-driven songs named Baby Part I.

Clock crafts a music that is alive with contrasts. Shimmery in tone yet shot through with powerful sub-bass and percussive trickery — her songs feel simultaneously weightless and overpowering, and yet pack a striking emotional resonance.

We listened to ‘Fade’ :

The world explodes in a prismatic micro-glitter shower of gorgeous shapes and textures before the vocal parades in — manganese and violet.

The song is punctuated by punch-hole rhythms and squelches of organic synth.

You may also detect an apricot zurna noodling through the spaces.

The breathy voice is clear and glass-cold.

A treat for the ears and a stimulus for your fibres

This is a series of delicious vibrations, hip twisting rhythms and ice-assed vocals – they will inspire you to get off your caboose and dance …
